Saleng expedition, 18!
Our crazy road trip around Thailand and Laos on a tricycle (saleng).
Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya, being the attraction and escort service!
After a few days in Kanchanaburi it was time to hit the road again. The plan was to stick with the walking paths again... 160 km/99 miles.
A statue for one of the former Kings of Thailand, many cocks around.
By driving the walking directions of Google maps we found ruines of ancient temples! Just before the road ended in the middle of town, not as pointed out in Maps. This lady gave an escort to the main road, back on the high way which we wanted to escape. But, with many kilometers/miles to go there wasn't enough time for sight seeing and d-tours.
Dondee Sheep Farm, a coffee stop where I ended up making my own coffee. Also we were an attraction here, did you see the tag on Facebook?!
Enough space for driving the saleng, as far left as possible not to get run over.
Dragon Descendants Museum, commercial area.
Dragon Descendants Museum, try the young coconut and cashew ice cream! Yammie!
Dragon Descendants Museum and statues.
Chinese temple.
Different generations putting gold leaves on buddha as an offer.
Fake blossom in the trees made the whole thing a circus.
Grain fields slowly changed for rice fields along the way.
Quick break, black coffee without sugar was possible but not without (condensed aka sweetened) milk. The bread was like french toast, covered with butter and condensed milk. Had a great laugh.
Arriving at dusk in ayutthaya, can you already spot some ruins?
Ayothaya Hotel in the middle of town, perfect after 160 km/99 miles (a new record!). Just drop the saleng and WALK! Let's see how the muscle fever goes in the next few days.
